What to Know
Local Phrases
“just now”
This phrase isn’t used as a measure of time and doesn't mean, “at this moment.” It means not knowing an amount of time; for example, if someone is going to pick up “just now”, that means they don’t know when they’ll be there so take your time!
“Now-now”
This is used as an urgent, “right now!” if someone says dinner will be ready “now-now” it means you need to hurry up.
“Robot”
This refers to a traffic light or stop light.
“Shame”
This is used an expression of empathy, like “oh no!” or “what a shame!”
“Leaker”
This is an expression of positive sentiment - like, “awesome!”
